Anthony Hergert
April 2024 Spotlight Golfer

Tony Hergert is known by a lot of different names depending on who he’s conversing with. His former bandmates called him Antoine, Frenchy or The Frenchman (no, he’s not French) and his mountain bike racing teammates from Rescue Racing call him T-Money. Tony was born during the family’s short stint in Houston, Texas in 1964 before moving back to Dallas. In his HS and college years, Tony played in multiple bands writing, recording and performing throughout the Midwest from Cincinnati, OH to Madison, WI which led to his leaving Miami University in Oxford, OH to pursue a career as a musician. Stardom being the fickle [expletive deleted] it is, Tony went back to college where he graduated with a degree in Philosophy and English Literature from Marquette University.

Tony fell into the world of compressed air and gas treatment since his father said sales was the next best thing to being a rock star. Liar! Tony started with a sales agency and relocated to Jacksonville, FL where Carol and he married in 1993. The couple moved to Atlanta when he was hired by a German compressed air treatment manufacturer called Zander. After surviving several acquisitions, the final one made by Parker Hannifin, Tony left his job as Sales Manager-Distribution NA for a new opportunity with IMI Precision NA in Littleton, CO where he traveled the world as Sales Director-Railway, Americas. Six months in, his old GM contacted him and said he was looking for people for a new venture. Tony was happy traveling internationally and wasn’t looking for a job. But, when the former GM stated ‘I’m looking for owners, not employees’, he took no time at all to answer “I’m in!” and nano-purification solutions was born. Tony was on the board and worked as Sales and Marketing Director for 10 years till a large compressor company from Sweden called Atlas Copco contacted nano to acquire the company. Tony just finished up his 3-year contract but is still working remotely from his homes in Ball Ground, GA and Palm Coast, FL in an OEM sales role.

“Carol and I love the outdoors and are grateful to be able to split time between the rugged mountains of NoGA and the natural beauty and charm of Palm Coast. We bought our place in Village Oaks two years ago and absolutely love Grand Haven…so much so, we’ve just put a house under contract in The Bluffs behind the #15 tee box. We are both very active in animal rescue and have 3 scrappy Terrierists ™ named Whiskey, Bulleit and Booker after our favorite spirit…Bourbon. Our interest in rescue led me to start Rescue Racing 10 years ago where we raise money for a local no-kill shelter. Carol and I both sit on the board and Carol was President for ~4 years. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know so many interesting people at Grand Haven GC. I enjoyed playing the Member/Member and Member/Guest last year and had a great time playing in the couples tournament with our neighbor, as well. Carol promised me she’ll play in the tournament next year!”
