Billy’s Grandfather was an avid golfer, born in England and an Industrial engineer in New York, eventually settling down in Tennessee with his Grandmother. That was where the desire originated, although with the exception of a couple of outings with customers, with a less than adequate display of talent, he did not take up golf until around 1992 at the age of 45. He played on a regular basis with friends and improved to a carry a 12 handicap at Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee. In the beginning he asked a friend what he was doing wrong while just digging a hole behind the ball with his club. The response back was “ Maybe if you put the ball in the hole , you can hit it “.

Billy only played backyard sports growing up as he worked after school starting at the age of 14. In later years he played softball for the Jaycee’s and had the opportunity for a number of years to coach Little league baseball and Jr. Pro football while volunteering his time through the Jaycee’s to support the Nashville Boys Club. His two son’s played football in the program and went on to play High School Football and be on the High School wrestling team. His daughter was a cheer leader.

Billy was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He has one older sister and one younger brother. He graduated from Hume Fogg Technical School in 1965 and continued to advance his education in later years at Nashville State Technical College. He joined the Army in 1966 and was Honor Graduate for Advanced Infantry Training in Communications and served his country in Germany for the duration of his three year service, being promoted to Sergeant within one year and heading up Battalion logistics until honorably discharged in 1969. He returned home to marry and have two sons and a daughter. His older son is plant manager of major parts supplier to the trucking industry, his other son has followed him in their family business, designing and implementing electrical control systems for industrial automation and now taking over the business and his daughter is in the nursing field. Billy has been an entrepreneur since 1976,  a Manufacturers representative, industrial distributor and electrical contractor.

In later years , Billy married Pablita and they have two sons. Their older son  works at his older brothers manufacturing company and attends college and their younger son resides with them in Grand Haven and is in the 4th grade at Old Kings Elementary. Billy also has seven grandchildren and one Great –Granddaughter.

Biily acts as a consultant on a limited basis to his son taking over the business. Pablita and Billy vacationed at Hammock Beach resort for several years and liked the Palm Coast area. They looked in Grand Haven a year before buying here and were not sure. They came back the following year in June of 2013 and their real estate agent, a member of Grand Haven Golf Club and former resident, brought them back to the community again. To them, the residents and members of the Grand Haven Golf Club have made it an enjoyable experience in making their transition to this community. They both enjoy the competition that comes with being involved in their golfing groups. After Billy went 3-0 in the North-South Game last year, being his first experience in that type of format, he found the challenge beneficial to making him a better person, as well as a better golfer. But the most important part of it all was the playing competitors making him comfortable while competing. To him, they are the valued spotlight golfers.
