We welcome Will Yorgey as our December 2017 Spotlight Golfer.  As MGA members, we have all read about Will’s winning in our Wednesday’s MGA newsletter. He has shot in the 60s during league play.  What we didn’t know is that he is also a good fisherman and proud of it.  Just look at his photo and see the Snook he caught in the Matanzas inlet.  Wow.  Great at golf and fishing!  Now a little more information about Will.

Will was born in Pennsylvania.  His family moved to Palm Coast in 1986.  He graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in 1995 and left for the Army a few days later.  Will’s claim to fame is that he is one of the few people from Palm Coast.

Will enlisted in the Army in 1995 as a military policeman.  His duty assignments included:  Panama, Korea, Iraq, and Japan.  His career stateside took him places like Texas, Georgia, Arizona, and North Carolina.  He went to Iraq twice with the 82nd Airborne Division and served as a Jumpmaster during his time with the unit.  After twenty-one years it was time to call it quits and go into what he calls “semi-retirement.”
Will and Christy were married in early 2011, and have two daughters.  Ella is five, and is involved in “The First Tee” golf program, karate, and cheer.  Madelyn is four.  She is involved in karate, ballet and is the artist of the family.  Christy is an ER Nurse by profession and will become a Nurse Practitioner in summer 2018.  Will and Christy have known each other since fourth grade and both grew up in the area.

In 2000, he picked up golf and started playing nine holes after work.  He won his first club championship in 2011.  He hopes to see his kids play golf.  His ideal foursome would be playing                                                                                                                                                                       with his wife and kids.
